In this post, we will look at some of the popular innovations that take place in the month of Muharram, especially on the 10th (Ashoora). What is Bid'ah (Innovations) Let us first understand the meaning of bid'ah according to Islamic Shari'ah. Bid'ah means introducing things into Islam that have no evidence (daleel) in the Quran and Sunnah to support it. We have been taught the way to worship Allah by our Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. Virtues of Muharram and the Day of Ashoora Muharram is the first month of the Islamic year. The Islamic lunar calendar has 12 months, the first one being Muharram. The word Muharram translates to Sacred in English, indicating the sanctity of this Month. In this post ,we are going to discuss the virtues of Muharram and the day of Ashoora. The word Hajj comes from the Arabic word Hajja , the literal meaning of which is to move towards something. In Islam, Hajj means to go to the Sacred house (Ka'bah) and perform certain actions. WHAT IS RUQYAH ? When you or your loved ones fall sick you go above and beyond to get complete cure. Nowadays, we have many ways of healing like medicines, natural ingredients, alternative medicine, etc. One way of healing that is not known much is Ruqyah .
